The 29-year-old has slotted in nicely at Chloorkop, helping the club to nine points in the three League games he has played as well as victory against Ajax Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup.
“It has been easy to settle because I have played with some of the players here in the national team,” says Nthethe, whose move was completed in transfer deadline day.
“There was not much time to get used to each other, but what helped is that the communication has been great. We had to talk a lot and I had to quickly adapt to how the team plays…I had to gel in very quickly because the games were too tight.
“So far, so good for me and I am looking forward to doing well here while keeping my feet on the ground and making sure that we get the results.”
Nthethe, who has already managed to score his first goal for Sundowns, also praises his new defensive partner Schut.
“He helped me a lot and we communicated a lot, and even after the sessions he always makes me feel welcome. He has made me feel free, plus he is a good leader who has helped me a lot to fit into the team,” says ‘Mr Cool’.
Nthethe adds that he is essentially at Sundowns to take his career to the next level.
“It was good for me to come here because I want to achieve more with Sundowns and get more major trophies going forward. I knew that it was going to be tough for me to get into the starting line-up, but I was ready for the competition here, which is why I joined the team.”
