Simphiwe Mtsweni statistical analysis

Posted: 20 February 2014 Time: 14:15

Simphiwe Mtsweni made his League debut for Kaizer Chiefs last night, and all in attendance at Soccer City would have been impressed by his performance.

The 19-year-old, a Stars of Africa graduate, played the full 90 minutes of the 3-0 win against Bloemfontein Celtic and never once looked out of place.

A look at his stats on the night confirms as much, with him having won three of the three tackles he attempted, and four of the six challenges he went into.

His overall pass-rate of 80 per cent (48 out of 60 passes completed) is impressive, though in the final third that ratio dropped to 58 per cent.

He also only attempted one cross which went over the goalline and had no shots at target, indicating that while the defensive part of his game is pretty solid, he could do with some more work on attack.

Still, Chiefs’ fans will feel they have a more than decent replacement at left-back should Tsepo Masilela’s injury problems persist.

He needs to concentrate on the basics first and venture forward as his confidence grows up, a good start overall.

Ntuli has 0 shot at goal, 0 crosses, 0 goals, 0 tackles, but he is already a star like mabena at the Galaxy of cows. mxm

Anyway, im a shrewd fan of the most supported team in Africa

Surprise about the age of the boy.  Still 19. He completed matric in 2005 and in 2011 he was part of the Mpumalanga Provincial team that competed in the SAB Castle Provincial Play-offs in Mpumalanga.

Kickoff dont lie, he was caught out on a few occasions with attacks coming from his side espcially the thundurous shot khune deflected into the crossbar.

But there were enough gud signs from him and considering that it was his full psl debut he did exremely well and positioning will come with experience. Future looks bright with this one. K4L!!

This boy is destined for big things if he keep his cool and not let fame come to his head.He would make his presence felt like his predecessors Sylvester Kole,Gardner Seale,David Nyathi and other zebras. With intelligent coach like Baxter this boy will go far even mkhulu Tsepo may hang his boots like Madala Kaizer Junior left back position would not be a problem unlike us

We will wait for Masuku, Tlou, Myeni or Klate to skin him alive.....so far they have failed to skin Masilela

There is no way he could complete matric in 2005 and be 19 now. Do u have proof of that?

From the performance in a CAF game in Namibian I knew you where going to start the next PSL game. You got all the defensive basics right and now you just need the confidence to attack...

Keep Calm Baxter and Chiefs Have a Plan for both chiefs and Bafana...

Ibhola Lethu  i think he got potential to attack, but he was little hesitant and scared to move more forward as he will be single out if we loose, but next season he will be confident, n take them on,
