Taylor praise for 'unfit' players Allie Lark Sangweni Mobara

Ajax Cape Town interim coach Ian Taylor applauded his players, especially those that lack match fitness, for their efforts in the 1-0 win over Bidvest Wits.

In a physical affair, the Urban Warriors ended a three-game losing run, and handed Taylor his first victory since taking over the reins from Muhsin Ertugral, thanks to Karl Lark's fifth minute goal at Cape Town Stadium last Friday.

Taylor pointed out Lark, fellow new signing Thamsanqa Sangweni, promising midfielder Abbubaker Mobara and club stalwart Nazeer Allie were operating inside of their full potential.

"A couple of players are not 100 percent fit," Taylor explained. "Nazeer Allie hasn't played for eight months and played 90 minutes.

"Mobara also hasn't played but he played 90 minutes. He has been out for a few weeks.

"Sangweni also came back and you can see that he's not 90-minutes fit.

"We also have Karl Lark who hasn't played in two months."

Taylor added of the result: "You see and wait but at the end of the day it's the heart and desire. They wanted it more, fought hard, and they deserve the three points."
