Platinum Stars suffer Mathe setback for Free State Stars clash

Posted: 7 February 2014 Time: 15:32

Platinum Stars midfielder Solomon Mathe has been ruled out of Sunday's match with Free State Stars owing to an eye problem.

“Solomon had an eye operation so he will not be playing on Sunday,” Dikwena coach Allan Freese tells KickOff.com

“Apart from him, we do not have any injury worries.”

Freese says it is important for his team to collect maximum points at the weekend.

“A win is very vital, not only for me but for the entire team.

“We must try and keep up with the leading teams to give ourselves a chance of winning the League title chase. We need three points and nothing less.”

Rustenburg has seen some heavy rain in the past few days, but Freese expects his men to adjust to the conditions at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

“I am not too worried about the conditions that we will play under. All the players must be ready. We might play on a wet pitch but they must be professional about this,” he adds.
