Ajax Cape Town defender Allie in line to face AmaZulu

Posted: 4 February 2014 Time: 12:38

Ajax Cape Town stalwart Nazeer Allie could make his return in tonight's Premiership clash with AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The composed defender has recovered from a long-term knee injury - which scuppered a move to Bidvest Wits - but might struggle to last the distance in Durban.

Ajax interim coach Ian Taylor told his club's website: "Allie is ready to play, the question I need answered is 'Can he last 90 minutes?'

"He has played a number of pre-season games and came through unscathed. The big test is game-time in the PSL.

"He is a quality defender and when he is ready, is able to slot into our defensive line in the middle or on the right flank."

In other team news, Urban Warriors youngster Abbubaker Mobara is also back in contention, but fellow midfielders Granwald Scott and Bantu Mzwakali are doubtful with respective knocks.
