SuperSport United attacker Lebogang Manyama believes Thato Mokeke’s move to the Tshwane outfit is a smart one for the Bafana Bafana newcomer.
Both players joined United from Ajax Cape Town in the recently concluded transfer window.
Manyama switched sides at the beginning of January, and notably scored the winner in last week's 1-0 victory over neighbours University of Pretoria.
"We all know Thato is talented, has a great football brain and a sweet left foot," Manyama says of Mokeke.
"He’s a classy player and does not need much of motivation because he’s already motivated.
"Throughout his time at Ajax, he’s been unfortunate and struggled a lot with injuries and so he didn’t play as much as he would have liked.
"But I believe he made a right move and hopefully injuries stay away from him.
"He must just wait for his chance and I’m sure he’ll make the most of it."
The versatile Mokeke, who can play across the back and in midfield, was a late inclusion in Gordon Igesund’s national squad for Chan tournament, making two appearances at the showpiece.
Some of Mokeke's former teammates at Ajax called him ‘Xavi’ for his calm and collective touches.
Ex-Urban Warriors coaches Maarten Stekelenburg and Muhsin Ertugral often spoke highly of the 23-year-old. The former put Mokeke forward for a trial at Ajax Amsterdam but the player got injured.
