Kaizer Chiefs crisis at left-back injured Masilela departed Ritchie

Posted: 3 February 2014 Time: 09:30

Kaizer Chiefs are facing a crisis at left-back following an injury to Tsepo Masilela and the departure of Keegan Ritchie.

READ: Masilela sustains fresh knock

Masilela has already been ruled out of Wednesday's match with SuperSport United after damaging his hamstring in the 2-0 victory over Moroka Swallows last week.

Ritchie, meanwhile, has completed his move to Czech Republic side SK Slavia Prague

And with Jammy Jambo struggling for fitness when making his return for the club's reserves this past weekend, Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter may have to rely on the inexperienced Simphiwe Mtsweni for the upcoming Premiership tie at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

"This was Jimmy's first game and he is not 100 percent match fit," Chiefs assistant coach Doctor Khumalo said of Jambo's showing in Tshwane.

"We thought he will replace Tsepo against SuperSport United on Wednesday but after 20 minutes he was already complaining about the pitch being heavy.

"It was good to see him back but we still have to work more harder to improve his fitness."

congo brazaville

Thats a gud observation my friend. Southern African do alot of labouring/RUNNING AROUND.

While West and Central African teams are tactical and plays slower and fast sometimes with accurate passing and finishing. Both like physical contact, hence there are more west and central african players in Europe than southern and eastern africans.

GOOD ANALYSIS CONGOLAIS!!!!!!

We had plenty of chances to unleash Simphiwe Mtsweni...when we won some of the matches convincingly , now we have injured players, we starting to panic. Our coach is a coward straight , uyasha, igwala...always ...nxaa
