PSL Transfer News: Ajax release Thato Mokeke to SuperSport United early

Posted: 31 January 2014 Time: 10:02

Ajax Cape Town have agreed to release Thato Mokeke to SuperSport United in this transfer window.

Mokeke had signed a pre-contract with Matsatsantsa a Pitoli with the contract set to start on July 1, but the Urban Warriors have released him immediately. At this stage the details of the agreement are sketchy.

Mokeke confirms to KickOff.com: “Yes, I’m coming today and arriving in the afternoon.”

With SuperSport playing University of Pretoria tonight at Lucas Moripe Stadium with kick off set for 20h00, it’s highly unlikely that the defender will feature.

What i like and respect about Supersport is that it sells players indiscriminately. They are not like Arrows selling players to Pierats only or Ajax selling players to Sundowns only. Again they respect players wish, they dont sell to the highest bidder. They agree to a reasonable price and the teaagrees with the players on personal terms wish. Not like the Mokoenas, Celtics and Ajax who sells to the highest bidder.

According to Siya crew sources, Bloemfontein Celtic want Rama Mphahlele as part of the deal that could see Thabo Nthethe join Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ssp united aka the new sunflops. Some PSL teams don't seem to realize that the more you sign the less you win things, its been proven by other clubs that followed this rule by just sign sign sign without thinking what it is that you sign, need for it or not. And just take a good look at ssp united this season cause to me they look weaker with all the reinforcements added. So now they bring in another old young star in mokeke which looks at least 35 in the photo above, age cheats are plentiful in the south African football landscape. Once and always.
