Mokeke to see out season with Ajax Cape Town pre-contract wth SuperSport United

Posted: 23 January 2014 Time: 15:03

Ajax Cape Town have confirmed they are highly unlikely to release Thato Mokeke to SuperSport United before the end of the season.

Mokeke, who made his national debut during Bafana Bafana's ill-fated Chan campaign, has penned a pre-contract with Matsatsantsa.

"Thato Mokeke has signed a contract with SuperSport United and he’s probably going to stay until the end of the season,” Ajax executive director Ari Efstathiou tells KickOff.com.

"We are discussing [his stay with Ajax] but we are 99 percent that he’ll leave at the end of the season."

The 23-year-old Mokeke has struggled for game-time at Ikamva, and feels the time is right for a change in scenery.

"I think since I wasn’t playing I thought maybe it’s the right time to leave and try something different," Mokeke says.
