Platinum Stars are playing down reports linking Lindokuhle Mbatha and Tintswalo Tshabalala with moves to the big three clubs.
Orlando Pirates, who recently added Helder Pelembe, Lwazi Skosana and Ntsikelelo Nyauza to their ranks, are believed to be eyeing Tshabalala and Mbatha, who have both played a key role in Stars’ success story this season.
Mbatha, whose contract with Dikwena runs out at the end of June, is also on the radar of Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.
The 28-year-old is part of the Bafana Bafana side competing in the African Nations Championships (CHAN), and the two clubs are expected to intensify their bid to rope him in soon after the tournament.
Stars football manager Senzo Mazingiza says while the Rustenburg-based side is aware of the interest for their players, they will only start weighing their options once they have been formally approached.
“There are no offers yet for Mbatha and Tshabalala so we cannot really say much in this regard,” Mazingiza tells KickOff.com. “The two are still our players. They have been part of the team that has been training with the coaches.
“Until we are approached by other clubs for their services, we will continue to regard the speculation as rumours. This stance will only change if and when we are approached by the clubs.”
