Free State Stars defender Mbhuyiselo Sambu has faith the club can ease their relegation concerns in the second half of the season.
Ea Lla Koto, who will resume their Premiership campaign against Bloemfontein Celtic on February 4, are second-from-bottom on the table with 13 points - three points above Golden Arrows and level with 14th-placed Maritzburg United, who have played an extra match.
“The team has been through tougher situations than the recent drop of form. It is not a disaster. We will turn the corner and get back to our winning ways in good time,” Sambu told Stars' official website.
“We all share the same goal which is to win more games and better our position on the log. Maybe even win some silverware when the going gets good.
“Everyone wants to help and get the team back on its feet especially with the new coaching staff that is doing a great job so far.”
The 31-year-old's progress was hampered by injury last year, and he hopes to hit the ground running next month after recently featuring in a tournament in Lesotho.
“I should say it felt great to be playing competitive football again after recovering from my injury,” he said.
“It is a confidence booster because I haven’t played a lot of games, so it felt good to play again. I am happy with the progress I am making and hopefully I get to play when the season resumes.”
