Da Gama joins Free State Stars

Posted: 7 August 2008 Time: 14:28

Former Platinum Stars and Orlando Pirates coach Owen da Gama has been appointed as the technical director at Free State Stars.

Da Gama signed a one-year deal with Ea Lla Koto this week, after spending two months without a club following his departure from the Buccaneers in June.

The former Moroka Swallows striker spent a full season in charge of the Orlando Pirates and still had two years remaining on his contract with Bucs when the two parties decided to part ways amicably.

Meanwhile, Ea Lla Koto have also signed a three-year with new sponsors Bonitas.

I know Owen is the good coach, but his appointment?????. After Sunflower's game he will surely be a head coach. Maybe F Stars has seen something not correct with Duncan.

Employing a coach as a director what does that mean? The current coach is not capable of taking the club to the next level or coaching skills are not good enough maybe with somebody else breathing behind your neck you'll pull up your socks! PSL coaches will never be united surely this will make the club owners happy as they gonna fire and hire coaches as they pleased!
