Sawu hasn’t hung up his boots yet

Veteran former Bush Bucks striker Agent Sawu says he has not given up the hope of continuing with his career although he has gradually been spending much of his time helping to coach at Eastern Cape Vodacom League side OR Tambo Cosmos.
OR Tambo, who were relegated from the Mvela League, are currently coached by Sawu’s Zimbabwean homeboy and former team mate Tauya Mrewa.
"Since my deal with Pillars (now Black Aces) was never renewed, I am now out of contract," Sawu says. "At my age, being out of contract, doesn’t necessarily mean that I have given up hope of playing again. I am still keeping fit by training here at OR Tambo Cosmos.
“I am also helping the club with coaching and I sit on the bench on match days so that I can pass on the knowledge gained from all the years of playing. I am helping out here on a part-time basis and I haven’t really given coaching full time much thought, because I haven’t hung up my boots as yet.
“Continuing with my career will depend on whether I can find a club interested in me as a player,” he adds.
The 36-year-old Zimbabwean had spells in Cyprus, Switzerland, China and in his homeland.
Sawu is best remembered for the goals he scored at Bush Bucks three years ago before moving to Durban Stars.
