PSL match report Mamelodi Sundowns vs Moroka Swallows

Posted: 1 December 2013 Time: 15:07

Mamelodi Sundowns went top of the Premiership log as a Katlego Mashego brace handed them a 2-1 win over Moroka Swallows on Sunday.

Katlego Mashego got a goal in each half, while Lerato Chabangu hit home with a free-kick at the death.

Swallows had their first real attempt at goal when winger Dikgang Mabalane volleyed the ball just wide after it had fallen to him on the edge of the box in the 26th minute.

Four minutes later Chabangu was one-on-one with Kennedy Mweene, but the former Brazilians captain shot straight at the goalkeeper. It was a weak attempt as he had time to place the ball.

The home side had an opportunity at the other end seconds later. Khama Billiat skilfully beat his marker and eliminated a few defenders before setting up Cuthbert Malajila, who toe-poked the ball into the side netting with his left foot.

The game began to open up in the latter stages of the first half and the Brazilians punished Swallows for their erratic defending.

Etafia sent a lame pass to his defender and has dispossessed by Billiat, who unselfishly passed to an unmarked Mashego to tap home into an empty net.

Mashego doubled his tally in the 60th minute when Swallows failed to clear the ball from a corner-kick. Rashid Sumalia’s header came off the crossbar and Mashego reacted the quickest to head home from close range.

Former Sundowns man Luvhengo Mungomeni was given his marching orders by referee Lwandile Mfiki in the 74th minute after a second yellow card offence.

Two minutes before time, Chabangu reduced the deficit, when he curled in a free kick from 20 yards to beat Mweene.

Manqele was denied a chance to bulldoze these yellowmen.....Sundowns are cowards and fear their own players...why did you loan him in the first place?....at the same time you are busy poaching our players and any other good player but you even refused to give Pirates Mushekwi for ACL....come January you'll still offer huge money to any Chiefs potential target though you know we need more quality players for ACL....you are disgusting

Impofana " Manqele was denied a chance to bulldoze these yellowmen........Sundowns are cowards ....................................................................................................................................................................... ". It s like saying Manqele was denied to cut the hand that feeds him.  Can you personally do that?

This maqhele issue is tired now, the contract was signed by both parties at the start of the season...not yesterday, not today...the clause has always been there...even when he scored his 5 goals. Its a shame that you think sundowns is the cause of chiefs problems. You didnt want to buy nomandela, erasmus because u refused spend money, you instead opted for musona, bukenya, mthsweni simply because u ddnt have to spend a cent. Your stinginess is the root of your problem. Come january you will do the same...your team is the one who is digusting by only opting for free and cheap players.....leave sundowns out of this

won't argue that Mfoka Mkhathini, May 2014 is just around the corner...Your well calculated big opinion*lol*

Mavisto going stryt out for insults proves ur lack of rational reasoning & declares u way unworthy of my attention.

Sundawana .. we were both watching same match I believe, and is clearly that our perceptions, perspectives and interpretations of the occurrences will surely differ and the level of rationality will surely b on an unbalanced scale. U were watching as a Sundowns supporter and I was watching as the soccer lover.... like it or not this has enough effect towarrant on how we can see same thing differently.

Let them keep that position warm....We will take it when the time is right......sunclowns, just like Gorillas will finish this season empty handed though they claim to have depth mark my words.......

The first goal was not offside at all. Mashego was behind billiat, he therefore cannot be offside. As for penalties, i can tell you that i have not seen a penalty opportunity denied for both teams. And i am not being baised here

Sgura, it takes rubish talker to realise the other, in this case u full of rubish all over ur face, that's y u see it everywhere!

Sandawana... I thought in my view, mashego came behind Billiat already from an offside position, cos they were both behind the keeper, even at the time Billiat was passing over the Ball to him to tap it in. All I wish for is fair play, where teams gets deserved wins or looses. I also hate it when my team wins dubiously becos as a sport lover and not a team supporter, I feel let down to have to celebrate such mediocrity.

Let 'em hate, it's their job to do so. we will also continue doing what is ours. The sky was created by the ALMIGHTY Himself, therefore non of the human's evil shall sag it to gravity, even hating will never bring it down.

Sundowns win... Chiefs supporters are unhappy! They simply dont even understand what they want

posted: 2013-12-01 20:18:53

No, they both were onside when the ball was taken from the swallows defender. I promise you there was no offside, i watched the match again by the way. It was clear legitimate goal.
