Orlando Pirates v Bloemfontein Celtic

Posted: 30 November 2013 Time: 19:44

Bloemfontein Celtic beat Orlando Pirates 3-2 in their League clash at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

Celtics goals were scored by Vuyani Ntanga, Thabo Nthethe and Musa Nyatama while Lennox Bacela and Andile Jali scored for Pirates.

Celtic took the game to Pirates but missed a lot of good scoring opportunities.

The visitors scored through a volley from Vuyani Ntanga in the 39th minute to make the score 1-0.

Bucs started the second half well and had a few chances in the opening minutes.

The equalizer came in the 55th minute from a shot by Lennox Bacela.

Siwelele took the lead again in the 66th minute through Thabo Nthethe who swept Letlabika’s cross home past Meyiwa.

Mhango should have scored for Celtic in the 84th minute but hammered his shot over the bar.

Celtic were awarded a penalty in the 88th minute when Gumede brought down Lerato Lamola in the area. Musa Nyatama scored sending Meyiwa the wrong way to make the score 3-1.

Pirates were awarded their own penalty deep in stoppage time after Collins Mbesuma was brought down in the box and it was Andile Jali who scored and made it 3-2.

After champions league final we knew it will be difficult in the league.

Complacency and fatigue was witnessed Saterday night.

How do you motivate players after champions league.

The best way is to rest 80% of the core team though its a huge risk.

Fresh players can show hunger to play whilst creating a healthy competition.

No need to panic, we will bounce back.

I believe in RDS.

Up the Bucs!

In soccer success is measured in terms of cups and not money you get out of losing. Don't shift goal posts.

Champions league silver medal

Champ some guys are just miserable individuals who strives on negativity....

it can not be that we question why RDS played who and so when he has never played.....

RDS is a coach spends time with these players and every now and then will try element of suprise which can work or might not work....

We needed top see Gumede and unfortunately he had a bad game....

but again i just feel the biggest issue for us or on the day was meyiwa.....

that being said, we lost and we need to support the boiys and the coach even more...

RDS has been great and i believe in him.....

Team is built over a period of time not in one season

Sbu Webhakabhaka

one thing i am happy about in what you say Sbu is that players were flat and dished out pathetic performance and RDS had nothing really to do with our loss ...Players have to take the blame.....

you just forgot to Mention Meyiwa...he is a big suspect for me....

legwathi failed also to support the Gumede guy.....

not all is lost Rooi, Jele, Ace will all be back for the final....

RDS did a great job and gave Gumede a chance and we should commend him for that....

All that needed to happen was legwathi playing close to him and support the boy....and for our right winger Myeni to track back a lot to assist

His bad performance was more to do with experience and low confidence than him being a bad or good player

What about the offside KO? In any other country they'll be reporting the offside "goal". Is it so normal in the PSL for teams to score against Pirates while offside that you no longer see it as important? After five games we have lost 3 points from clear offside goals. Referees in African are better than the treatment we get in the PSL.

gogowami He would not have seen the offside. It has become normal to score offside goals against Pirates. In five matches we have lost three points from clear offsides.

Svai gogowami while I agree that the goal was offside but there is school of thought that says that  Masele should have got penality from the same move and the Pierats goalkeeper should have received card. Not sure about the card colour
