Free State Stars v Kaizer Chiefs

Posted: 30 November 2013 Time: 15:04

Kaizer Chiefs moved to the top of the log with a hard fought 2-0 win over Free State Stars at Charles Mopeli Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Siyabonga Nkosi and Siphiwe Tshabalala scored in each half.

Chiefs were quick out of the blocks and had three great opportunities to open the scoring in the first 20 minutes.

Firstly Tefu Mashmaited missed from close before Knowledge Musona failed to capitalize on an Ea Lla Koto defensive mistake.

Daniel Agyei was forced into a fine double save in the 17th minute to deny first Tshabalala and then Nkosi.

The Ghana goalkeeper though could do nothing to stop Nkosi from scoring in the38th minute.

The Chiefs midfielder made a darting run into the area before heading Tshabalala’s precise free-kick into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

Chiefs were deserved 1-0 leaders at the interval.

Stars piled forward in the final few minutes of the match and thought they had equalised a minute from time through Ouro-Akoriko.

The Togolese found the back of the net with his head from close-range but the linesman's flag was raised for off-side.

Shabba sealed the deal in second half stoppage time when he ran onto a neat ball from Parker before beating Agyei to make it 2-0.

Its still bemuse me how a professional player whose been playing at a top level for many years still cannot connect with the ball to hit a target. It's so embarrassing to see our professional players balloons a ball like they do.

khosination, let's not be gorillas and put our coach underpressure. We all know our coach is losing ideas as fast as he got them, but to insult him is simply gorilla mentality. First let's be grateful that we not fighting relegation like our neighbours----hehehehe before we enjoy Xmas Roger will be history-----, second let's be objective about thing (sensationalising things is not on). One khosi even went as far as calling Majoro a cow. Come on khosis. Major my Major a cow? Never. Yes Lebese has a cowish attititude, but on his best day he delivers---i know we not on the business to wait for Lebese or Masango to grow up, that would be like waiting for Jesus to come back, which is not soon. Our coach, Nkatha, Gould, and others are our weakest link at the moment, but let's not insult them, rather let's have a fair discussion about their liabilities.

Dankie Khosi!!!!
