PSL match report: Kaizer Chiefs vs Polokwane City

Posted: 27 November 2013 Time: 19:03

Kaizer Chiefs put four past Polokwane City in a League clash on Wednesday evening.

Chiefs produced a masterful performance at Soccer City, with Bernard Parker scoring a brace, and Mulomowandau Mathoho and Kingston Nkhatha a goal each.

Puleng Tlolane got City’s consolation goal at the death, while Josta Dladla succumbed to a silly red card.

The home side were quick out of the blocks and showed their intention to dominate, and on five minutes centre-back Mathoho received the ball from Parker just inside the box and placed his shot perfectly beyond Modiri Marumo.

The referee brought a halt to the match in the 13th minute after persistent lightning above the stadium, and there was a 45 minute break in play.

Amakhosi were not unsettled, however, and added to their lead soon after the restart.

It was a comedy of errors at the back for the away side as centre-backs Thapelo Tshilo and Vukile Mngqibisa failed to communicate, resulting in a horrendous clearance which Nkhatha blocked and hit home from close range for his third League goal of the season.

Chiefs piled more misery on Boebie Solomons’s charges when they made it 3-0 just inside 32 minutes.

Left-winger George Lebese provided an inch-perfect cross for Parker, who was on the edge of the box, and the striker unleashed a powerful diving header for his fifth League goal of the season.

Stuart Baxter brought on Reyaad Pieterse for Itumeleng Khune at half-time, the word from the stadium being that the coach wanted to give the back-up goalkeeper some time on the pitch and rest his first choice.

Parker then grabbed his brace on the hour mark, receiving the ball from Lebese again and making space for himself just outside the box before letting rip with a powerful left-footed shot which hit the roof of the net.

In the 83rd minute Dladla was sent for an early shower when the referee gave him two yellow cards in a matter of seconds; the first for a mistimed tackle and the second for continuous protestation.

Three minutes from time City scored a consolation goal when Tlolane beat the static Chiefs defence and netted from close range, as Pieterse tried to close him down.

HOME: Kaizer Chiefs

Coach: Stuart Baxter
Formation: four two three one

AWAY: Polokwane City

Coach: Boebie Solomons
Formation: four three three

KCisNationalDefenceForce Last season some complained that we were scoring tap-ins; i saw a clumsy tap-in last night and the scorer got injured in the process and was replaced. Parker is on song...got to love his work ethic.

TsoKing The Less said about Brian matter the better Khosi. On the Ncobo case, You may have noticed that the commentators are primed up by Marawa in that show. Errol Sweeney went to that show and pulled out a FIFA rule book; he never saw the light of day...reason, he was not speculating and was calling the marverrick Marawa into order in his own show. That guinea pig does not like that, he plays everything to the gallery. It's a show of a cabal, they agree just on everything...lacks objectivity.

Majoro can score goals but he can't position himself very well, that is why he is not getting enough chances. I'll go for your cow Nkatha in any given day. At least u can see what he is doing and work on his weakness.
