Daine Klate: Orlando Pirates still want to win all trophies

Posted: 14 November 2013 Time: 08:31

After their CAF Champions League disappointment, Daine Klate says Orlando Pirates still want to win everything on offer.

The Buccaneers lost to Al Ahly in the Champions League last weekend, but are still in contention for the League, Telkom Knockout and Nedbank Cup.

Roger de Sa’s men are now focused on their next match – a TKO semi-final against SuperSport United next weekend – and Klate insists they will be working hard to “restore their pride”.

“It is no secret that we are a team that wants to win everything – our approach in the remaining competitions this season will not change," he tells the club website.

“We played big games in the Champions League and did well so, we will have to keep the standard ... I know the competitions are totally different but we will not change our approach in the next games.

“We have to win and restore our pride.”

Klate, who has pulled out of the Bafana Bafana squad to face Swaziland on Friday, says Bucs have iproved a lot in terms of experience and fighting spirit, although he admits they have a lot of work to do on the domestic front.

“The group has gained a lot of experience and now we have to fight hard and dominate our football – it is never easy because other teams also have big plans this season but we will give our best once again and try to be number one again.”

Bucs and United faceoff at Lucas Moripe Stadium on November 23rd. Kickoff is set for 15.00.
