Baxter Kaizer Chiefs to review Gould punch on Kebede

Posted: 11 November 2013 Time: 09:35

Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould looks like he may be in trouble with his club for an apparent punch on Getaneh Kebede during a Premiership clash with Bidvest Wits on Saturday.

Gould was lucky to escape a red card after tangling with Kebede, and later apologised on Twitter saying: "I wud (sic) like to apologise to the Wits player that I punch (sic) it was a freak accident ..."

Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter says he did not see the exchange but insisted he will take action if Gould has transgressed.

"I didn’t see it," Baxter told Chiefs' official website.

"I will see it on tape and if it is something that the club doesn’t allow and perhaps also something that could have cost us a game, definitely we will act on that."

The League could also review the incident and hand Gould a three-match ban for violent conduct.

that was a clear punch and a straight red card. How did Mfiki not see that? We do not need referees to protect us.

Morgan "The Rose of Naturena" Gould, what a punch!!!  This is one incident that makes me laugh after the pain of losing in the final.  How on earth a soccer player display such a killer punch in a field of play? Thatha Gould.

Punishment is necessary for any offence. Pity I didnt see what happen live as I was in the stadium. So now I have to watch soccer zone to see what exactly happen.

How Gould calls this "an accident" is beyond me and buffles me to the extreme.a clear deliberate punch by a 30 year old heavyweight on a 17 year old lightweight child.Gould shud be ashamed of himself.what is even more buffling is how the referee missed this. The referee,as u will see on TV tonight was only two meters away from the incident and had a very clear view of it as he was facing the action and nothing was obstructing his view when the incident happened.I have nothing against Chiefs but our referees are a disgrace to this country.
