Namibians go berserk

Drunk Namibia players went on the rampage in Witbank on Saturday night, trashing a room at their hotel and causing damage estimated at R5 000.
Three players, whose identities are being withheld by authorities, were responsible for setting off a fire extinguisher in their room, breaking a mirror, the locks of the hotel room door and throwing a litre of Lucozade all over the carpets, the management of the Protea Hotel in Witbank said.
Fire authorities were also needlessly called out after the players set off the fire extinguisher.
A claim for the damages is to be made against the team, which left the hotel on Sunday morning for Johannesburg, where they are to catch a flight back to Windhoek. New carpets, mirror and door locks have to be installed.
Namibia lost 1-0 to South Africa’s Development Team in their Cosafa Senior Challenge quarterfinal in Witbank on Saturday.
