Itumeleng Khune Bafana Bafana 2015 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco

Posted: 15 October 2013 Time: 10:20

Bafana Bafana captain Itumeleng Khune believes the national team is on the right track ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Bafana played the 2015 Afcon hosts Morocco on Friday last week in a match that ended 1-1 and Khune is buoyed by the team’s play and the performance of the younger players such as Bongani Zungu, Siyanda Xulu, Daylon Claasen and Sibusiso Vilakazi.

“We learnt a lot from Morocco and experienced the conditions that we would be faced with in the 2015 Afcon if we qualify. I was impressed with the squad when we played Morocco, especially the newcomers. We showed character,” ‘Itu’ says.

“However, we know we still have a long way to go.”

i was dissapointed with our defence, especially with the setpieces, thats where we almost lost the game.cowne you failed to organize them hence we got a draw,am now wondering about your organising skills cos after the first freekick you should have seen where the challenge was and got prepared for the next one,i was impressed with the new guys, they still have a long way to go though

It must really amuse you to try to fault players from this greatest team. Well right now you are looking at the wrong person to fault, this is our captain, our number 1. They have tried to break him down before but here he is today still showing us his abundant goalkeeping talents, his warrior-like leadership skills. So try poi-poi try.
