Bloemfontein Celtic successfully defended the Macufe Cup with a 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.
Vuyani Ntanga scored from a free-kick in the first half to hand Celtic the win.
Stuart Baxter handed debut starts to Ivan Bukenya and Simphiwe Mtsweni.
Mandla Masango had the first chance of the match, a low shot that did not cause much trouble for Thembalethu Moses, who was given a rare start between the sticks for Celtic.
Matthew Rusike was next with an opportunity, but he took too much time in the box and Moses was able to collect.
Ntanga then made it 1-0 in the 24th minute with a free-kick just outside the box, after Wayde Jooste was brought down by Lucky Baloyi.
Celtic could have made it 2-0 a few minutes later, when Lerato Lamola beat the offside trap and went for goal, but Brilliant Khuzwayo – given a start in place of Itumeleng Khune – was quick off the mark to foil him.
Stuart Baxter brought on youngster Philani Cele and goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse at the start of the second half.
Moses denied Chiefs an equaliser, saving from a Masango shot, before Siyabonga Nkosi hit his effort across goal.
With 15 minutes to go, Ntanga had another free-kick in a promising position, and curled it around the Chiefs wall, but Pieterse was able to collect easily.
Masango had yet another chance as the match wound down, but Moses pulled off a great save again to keep the Macufe Cup in the Free State.
