Polokwane City vs Kaizer Chiefs Telkom Knockout Cup

Posted: 5 October 2013 Time: 19:39

Kaizer Chiefs cruised into the Telkom Knockout Cup quarterfinals after a 3-0 drubbing of Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday night.

Amakhosi had led 1-0 at the break courtesy of Tefu Mashamaite's header, and the centre-back added another in similar fashion from a corner-kick on 68 minutes.

Knowledge Musona made sure of the win four minutes later, running onto Morgan Gould's long-ball before chipping the on-rushing Galabgwe Moyana.

The first chance fell to the visitors in the third minute when George Lebese left the ball for Reneilwe Letsholonyane, but Nkueni Mayala made a good save at the near post.

Then in the 16th minute Itumeleng Khune was forced into action to tip a powerful strike from Thabo Rakhale over the crossbar.

Amakhosi took the lead in the 34th minute when Mashamaite met Bernard Parker’s corner at the near post to nod past as stranded Mayala.

Mayala did stop Chiefs from taking a two-goal lead into the break when he denied Musona from close range in the first minute of added time.

The visitors threatened to double their lead in the 53rd minute, but Kingston Nkhatha volleyed over the crossbar after the ball fell for him at the far post from a corner.

Siphesihle Nzimande had a chance at the other end six minutes later but his header was blocked by Morgan Gould, while his second effort went straight to Khune.

Then on the hour-mark Million Mkhabela did well to clear the ball over the line after Tsepo Masilela had chipped over Mayala, while Letsholonyane missed a sitter six minutes later.

However, Mashamaite gave Amakhosi some breathing space in the 66th minute with another headed goal from Parker’s corner.

Chiefs put the result beyond doubt in the 74th minute when Musona beat Mayala with a lobbed effort after running onto a long pass from Gould.

I fıll sorry of chıefs fans thıs guy uBaxter does not want to change hıs style of football whıch ıs counter- attackıng football, long balls, defend ın numbers, unfortunely a small team lıke polokwana they don't have a coach now, comes next round chıefs wıll be facıng a season psl team that knows to tackle thıs style,I belıeve all top psl teams they know now baxter style of play.In england most teams are usıng thıs style of play, that ıs why England wıll never wın world cup, well organızed teams they know to beat a team who ıs usıng that style of play.

And I'm sure you will agree Spain who won Euro and the World Cup used the same system of one touch football coz its their play as they adopted it, and they r still using it, y should they change it? Barca is still playing the same football they did under Pep, y should they change? Buyern muchen still play the same football that won them the champions league, y should they change? KC is still playing the same football that won them a double last season, y should they change?

There's a fine line between trying to steal the show by making your point AND totally being pathetic!

In a plastic trophy you need only one goal.

Come league game you concede javelin fc.

That's why you'll never succeed in the CAF champion league.

You lack basics football knowledge

Mr cat should have played fringe players

Mighty Bucs = one leg into CAF final
