Bafana Bafana squad Teko Modise Andile Jali

Posted: 1 October 2013 Time: 09:22

Who do you want to see in the Bafana Bafana squad to be announced today? The overwhelming call has been for Teko Modise to return.

Teko Modise last played for Bafana in a 1-0 loss to Zambia in November last year.

Bafana will face Morocco in an international friendly on October 11 in Agadir, and Gordon Igesund is announcing his squad at a press conference at 12.30pm this afternoon.

Igesund has said he will use the match to start preparations for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

We asked our fans on social media who they want to see in the squad – here are the top answers.

Sakhile Sibiya Maravesi: We do need Teko Modise he is d best midfielder we have in the psl

Sandile Ndlovu: we miss Teko's touch srsly

Frans Seanego: Sangweni and Gould we need strong center backs

Audie Flux: Sejake Jali, Manyisa, Erasmus, Klate, Jele

Sipho Shasha Ignatiuz KaMaeyane: Young players, Xulu, Tower, Keet, Classen, Mokotjo, Patosi, Jali, Serero need for almost over the hill stars like the whole Chiefs crew. Khune can come in, with Mlungu, Mahlangu, Ngconca, Matlaba to guide them

Bafana Boss Mazibuko: Khenyeza and Mashamaite

@SiviweMgongo: The era of Shabba, Teko, Yeye etc is over lets shift our focus to youth now and start nurturing young players for 2018.

‏@clizule: a recall for Mere.Dintswalo,Madondo,Mario Boyseens,Mashamaite and Sbu Vilakazi and I wud stil luv 2 c T Gumede nt at RB tho

The other top suggestions were: Sibusiso Vilakazi, Tintswalo Tshabalala, Vuyo Mere, Ronwen Williams, Siphelele Mthembu, Lehlogonolo Masalesa and Welcome Qalanto.

This a stupid article, out of the EIGHT fans you interviewed, only THREE wants Teko back, you do the math, the other FIVE don't want him.

Jennifer Malec Joe Banana Come on Jen, isn't it obvious, those must be Downs fans! So maybe the article should have said "Downs fans want Teko back"......

Mxm you really wanna see the Bafana Bafana team DEAD , more than it is at this juncture.I mean we are begging for the exclusion of Shabba , Yeye , Masilela etc and the editor is busy collecting bribes from the likes of Teko to fabricate thumb sucked stats.NO , we dont need him..

Without taking anything from The Navigator, My General whom i believe is a great, we need to move on with new blood and specifically young guns who are hungry to represent our national team.

I want to see Gordon choosing players who will play for each other not fame and proving who is better than who like Teko n Schillo did.

Editor you missed a chance to do better here. We are talking young players but you drag old players back into BB. Yes Tintswalo Shabala can be included but those two madalas had long pass their sell by date. There is many young stars around to choose from. Teko & Mabhuti are no longer the future you can just as well put Siyabonga Nkosi there.

Jennifer Malec Neoza ..out of the 8 "Most popular" answers, only 3 wants Teko back while the other don't want him...why did he make the headline?Could it be that you want him back Jen?

as much as im a Sundowns fan,i dont agree with the return of Teko to Bafana.yes he is a great player but the guy is over 30 now.we need to build for the future.Zungu,Jele,Lebese,Shongwe..etc are the players we need to give regular time.that is the generation that shud represent us in 2018 world cup.yeye,Tshabalala..etc shud be phased out.
