Eleazar Rodgers Ajax Cape Town Mamelodi Sundowns

Posted: 21 August 2013 Time: 15:16

Eleazar Rodgers says that the reasons for the drag in his proposed move to Ajax Cape Town were due to his unwillingness to relocate.

The 28-year-old arrived at Ikamva this morning to begin a new tenure with the Urban Warriors after weeks of uncertainty as he was also part of the deal that saw Khama Billiat move to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Despite finally sealing a loan move to the Cape Outfit, Rodgers was also linked with a move to Bidvest Wits.

“I didn’t mind coming down here to play for Ajax or remaining in Gauteng with Wits.”

“It’s just I had to relocate again after I had settled in well in Gauteng.”

Rodgers last turned out for Santos before eventually leaving for Sundowns, he says he hopes to receive the backing of Ajax’s cross-town rival’s fans, Santos, despite the change in colours.

“Hopefully they will continue to support me, but right now I’m focused on football.

“I’m looking forward finding my feet again. I want to settle in the team well, gel with the players and find my goal scoring form once again.”

I cant wait for Saturday's Soweto derby and excuses that come with one team losing the game. Excuses will be from NB players being injured and unavailable to play, brown envelopes and some team concentrating on NB games other than the Soweto derby.

With respect Mr Rogers, you and many other cows that were signed because of Trott and Makhanya's shenenigans, Diyo Sibisi, Fanyana Mokoena, Mbesuma et al were never and will never be ball players ala Downs Shoe-shine-n-piano. Only Trott no Makhanya can explain your presence at Chloorkop.

Now that you have paid off your Merc/BMW and hopefully invested in nice property eKapa, we Downs fans hope that u can stay away from Downs waya waya.
