The national anthems are underway in Durban! Captain Khune's baritone clearly audible.

Igesund gives Khune a high-five, while Keshi looks cool, calm and collected on the bench. The Nigeria coach is looking a little thinner – but it can't be from worry; his Super Eagles are looking good.

Kick-off! SA in the green and gold, Nigeria in white and green.

4m Ogu has the first shot of the game, from outside the box, but it's way high and wide.

5m Early free-kick for Bafana. They tried to take it quickly, and Phala is ... yellow carded. Free-kick is eventually easily cleared by Nigeria.

11m Chance for Nigeria – ball over the top as Mathoho and Nthethe caught out, Oduamadi gets to it, but the threat is quashed by Khune. Awkward defending there from the centre-back.

KickOffNigeria's @ColinUdoh on Twitter: That's exactly how the 94 squad used to play. Just pass the ball around like they didn't know what they were doing, then a quick break...

15m Masilela tries a shot, but it's wide and to the left.

16m Another half-chance for Nigeria ... the ball is swept out wide to Mba, who spins it in from the left to Echiejile in the penalty area, but he volleys over the bar.

18m Furman does some clearing up in the penalty area and Bafana sweep on the counter, Parker to Rantie, and a strong run by Rantie but he can't beat Ambrose – although he does well to win a corner.

19m Corner taken by Shabba, cleared.

21m Bafana on the attach again, and it's Parker to Phala, who tries to cut back to Shabba in the box ... he almost collects but the Nigeria defence get to the ball first.

24m Chance for Bafana! Furman collects a ball in the middie and scoops it out to Parker, who looks to combine with Shabba – if he could have just stuck out his right leg it would have been a goal! But to be fair it was slightly in front of him.

25m Free-kick for the Eagles, reaches the far post, out for a corner. Corner is high, Ambrose can't get on the end of it. Ball reaches Onazi, who combines with Mba, he attempts a chip, but Khune collects.

27m Close for Nigeria! Ogu hits the top corner post with a curler from long range! Khune stranded.

32m Yeye spins and finds Rantie, who bursts through and has a shot, straight at Ejide. Shabba was free on the right and calling for the ball, but you've got to admire Rantie's one-track mind.

33m A speculative shot from Nsofor from 30 yards, bounces awkwardly in front of Khune but he ... chins it away expertly?

40m Hlatshwayo yellow carded for a shove on Nsofor.

42m Shot out of nowhere from Ogu outside the box ... it's powerful but Khune makes the stop.

42m Rantie makes space for himself in the box, and gets a shot away, but it hits the side netting. Yeye was suffering from a heel in the groin, but he's up on his feet again.

45m Chance for Yeye! He receives the ball in the area from Rantie on the right, but hits the ball straight against Oboabona.

46m Phala takes a free-kick from the right, but it's bundled out for a corner, which Ejide collects comfortably.

Half-time

@ColinUdoh on Twitter: HT: South Africa 0-0 Nigeria. Almost even game, #SuperEagles clearly superior but both sides with their chances #2013NelsonMandelaChallenge

KICK OFF deputy ed @1stLadyofFooty on Twitter: #Bafana creating so many chances. Also creating so many ways to waste them.

Second half

Three Nigeria subs: Moses on for Mba; Musa on for Nsofor; Nwofor on for Ameobi.

49m Goal! Nwofor scores with a cheeky backheel!

A ball in behind again catches Bafana flat. Oduamadi scuffs his cutback, but Nwofor has the presence of mind to backheel past Khune. Great work by Moses on the left to hold off Phala and skip past a couple of tackles in the build up to the goal.

51m Tsepo Masilela yellow carded for a tug on Musa.

58m Masilela sends in a great cross from the left, Parker rises to connect, but Ejide climbs to collect from in front of his nose calmly.

60m Bafana sub: Nomandela on for Phala.

65m Yeye has a hopeful shot from just outside the box, but it's over the bar.

68m Goal! Nwofor makes it 2-0 with a one-touch goal after some great play by the Super Eagles. Moses skips past his marker , plays in Musa, who cuts back to an unmarked Nwofor for a simple tap-in.

72m South Africa sub: Lerato Chabangu on for Reneilwe Letsholonyane.

75m Furman finds Chabangu on the right, who has a pop at goal from outside the box after spotting Ejide off his line – it's not far off but over.

77m Nigeria sub: James Okwousa on for Godfrey Oboabona.

78m Nigeria sub: Brown Ideye on for Nnamdi Oduamadi.

78m Parker hits a free-kick over the wall, but it's just over the crossbar.

80m Bafana sub: Manyama on for Parker.

84m Ogu tries another long range effort, but it's wide.

87m Ogu yellow carded.

91m Shabba comes close, after twisting past a couple of Nigeria defenders, he gets a shot away, but it's saved.

92m Manyama hits a low shot on target, inches wide.

Full time: South Africa 0 Nigeria 2

1.I think we expect too much from Bafana bafana, this is the same team, whch didnt qualify for Afcon, world cup, and the team comprises of the same players who dissapointed us during the world cup

2.The team which played or the "Regulars" local and overseas no one plays in the most sought after leagues or real top teams, the nigerians play all over the world, they play regularly and they play top football and their development is working.

3.South africas development is non exsistant, meaning this treand will cntinue for a while, and Our national coach does not believe in young stars, Shabba, Masilela, Yeye, dikgacwi, Gaxa and others should be phased out, youngsters should be brought it( Mokotjo,Dylan classen,Malesela,Jali, van Heerden, BiBO, and others ASAP.

4. We should stop bringing every jack and jill into BB just because they scored 11 goals last season ,some players are just not national team materail (Klate,Nomandela, Dino Ndlovu, Mdledle, Fransman,Teko, Mbuyane)

5.Lastly Igesund is a a coach who is good for short term goals, long term he is not the solution.

K4L.
