The day has come for Leopards

Posted: 4 July 2008 Time: 14:10

Black Leopards’ nickname ‘Lidoda Duvha’ translated means ‘the day will come’, and that is just what will happen tomorrow.

After going down 1-0 to First Division Coastal Stream outfit Bay United in the first leg away fixture in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday, the Limpopo Province outfit has one last game in which to try and retain their place in the Absa Premiership when they host their opponents again at the Malamulele Stadium on Sunday.

If Leopards win this play-off semi final that kicks off at 15h00, they will go up against the winner of the second semi-final that is being contested by FC AK and Dynamos for the last remaining place in the Absa Premiership next season.

According to a report on the PSL’s website put out by Sapa’s Billy Cooper, Lidoda Duvha’s acting coach Frenchman Paul Dolezar is ready to wield the big stick after the mid-week defeat.

“There will be changes. It was not just a bad performance; it was a very bad performance. The players need to start taking this seriously and not joke about on the field,” Dolezar told Sapa.

“Unless we start playing with urgency and heart we will be playing in the National First Division next season. This is our last chance. If we fail, we go down.”

Dolezar said that he would bring in a more attacking players and go for broke.

“If we do not fight for every second of the next 90 minutes we can kiss the PSL goodbye. I want to see a huge improvement in the attitude and performance,” concluded the former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns mentor.

A friendly advice to Paul.Pls do not stress try help these people (Leopard management), They have done too much harm to coaches. Chickens are definetely coming home to roast. Should you help them survive relegation. I can i sure you in no time they are going dump you unashamedly for another coach. Let them swallow the bitter pill and take this time to do some introspection.
