After a nail biting 5-4 penalty win over ABS FC in the round of 16, the Benue State-owned club face NNL side Akwa Starlets in the quarter-final in Enugu on July 31, and the vice-chairman of the club Dominic Iorfa is intent on making it to the final again.
"It is not over until it’s over at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos in the Final, and until then we must caution ourselves and learn to celebrate our wins with utmost decorum," Iorfa said after Lobi's win over ABS.
"Our mission and objective was clear from the beginning of this competition, it is to lift the coveted trophy in our second attempt in two years because our sports loving Governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswan and the good people of Benue State deserve a silverware for their support."
Lobi were beaten 2-1 by Heartland in last year's Final played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, after a late goal by Brendan Ogbu helped the Naze Millionaires to victory over the Suswan Boys who last lifted the trophy in 2003.
