Dikwena appoint new coach

Allan Freese new coach of Platinum Stars

KickOff.com can confirm that Allan Freese is the new permanent coach of Platinum Stars.

Freese, with Willem Jackson as his assistant, had taken over on an interim basis following Cavin Johnson’s departure that was engulfed in controversy.

Now that the issue with Johnson is water under the bridge after the two parties smoked a peace pipe and parted ways in good terms, Dikwena have wasted no time in appointing a new permanent coach.

“We will formalise it today, but that is the decision that we made,” Stars’ football manager Senzo Mazingisa tells us. “So Willem will assist Allan,” he adds.

I think it is a wise decision considering that the league starts this week. Let coach Freese and Jackson continue instead of getting a new coach because it will disrupt all pre-season work that was put in. As long as management support them and do not interfere, I think they can succeed. Also the players need to play for the coaches, the team and for the supporters. I also hope that we see more supporters at the games this season. Thanks

@Baccaroca...Actually both Alan and Howard played for KC during different eras though; Alan was first, then Howard, not sure whether Alan played for pirates but Howard came from Cosmos to KC.
