Bucs, Sox deadlocked

Orlando Pirates and Tlou Segolela have failed to come to an agreement over a new contract

Orlando Pirates and Tlou Segolela have failed to come to an agreement over a new contract and if nothing changes, the latter could be leaving.

According to Bucs coach Roger De Sa, Pirates made their ‘best offer’ but the player was still not happy with the deal, hence he was spotted sitting in the stands during Pirates’ match against AC Leopards on Saturday night at Orlando Stadium.

“I was told that Tlou is not a Pirates player, because his contract expired… He didn’t come to an agreement with the club and you got to respect that.

“You got to sign a contract to play for a club and at boardroom, there was a disagreement so they didn’t agree terms and the player decided not to sign,” De Sa discloses.

He adds: “The club decided that was the best offer they could make.”

Segolela’s contract expired on June 30 and a couple of weeks ago, Sox told KickOff.com he had met the chairman Dr Irvin Khoza and agreed that he must stay. However, it seems the midfielder spoke too soon.

He couldn’t be reached for comment this time around.

They have lost players to Maritsburg, they have signed a free agent defensive striker, couldn't afford Alwal, can't agree terms with Erasmus, had to let good players like Okonkwo go, Lekgwathi and Sox have no contracts. But the stupid mice fans still don't believe that their team is broke..

To be fair, I'm 100% sure you have seen very few stories - if any, with figures. The bottom line is South African teams never reveal figures and the media cannot do anything to change that. That's the way it is, but as we reported the two parties failed to agree terms. For me, it doesn't matter if the disagreement was over R2, what matters is they failed to agree terms. We've done our part to report that to Pirates fans or anyone interested.

I blame this mess at Pirates to De Sa. All the senior players are not happy maybe someone has to man enough and spill the bean. This is not about the offer.

We are sick and tired of this man dismantling our team.

Tlou, if I had my way I would say just stick around for about 1 month this man will be gone, however it will be unfair of me because you have a family to look after.

If it happens that you leave Pirates, all the best mfanakithi.

In fact Tlou Segolela should vacate our ship, he is going to be a bad omen and influence in the team with his unreasonable demands. We need all the players to be happy and motivated for the long season ahead of us.He is replaceable as we have Twala, Ngoma, Liphoko, Molangoane,
