Former Uganda defender Ibrahim Sekagya has joined MLS club New York Red Bull on a free transfer from sister club Red Bull Salzburg.
Sekagya has been training with the New York club since June 26 and has now agreed a two and half year contract.
Although Sekagya will be earning non-DP wages, KickOffNigeria.com understands that the contract will place the 32 year-old among the top earners at the club.
Sekagya captained Uganda in qualifiers for the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, and several Nations Cp campaigns until 2012 when he retired.
The defender signed with Red Bull Salzburg back in June 2007 and went on to become a mainstay for the Austrian Bundesliga power, winning three titles in his time there including captaining them to the league and Cup double in the 2011 and 2012 season.
