Ajax Cape Town have raised a hand of interest in Welsh goalkeeper Kyle Letheren as they step up their bid to bring in a new shotstopper ahead of the new season.
Letheren spent the past season at Scottish Premier League club Kilmarnock where he was used sparingly and is now a free agent.
KickOff.com has gathered that contact between Letheren and Ajax has been ongoing, and although the 25-year-old has an option of moving to Scotland First Division club Dundee he is keen on the challenge that moving to The Urban Warriors would provide.
Kyle’s father Glan Letheren – who is a former Leeds United goalkeeper – is involved in the negotiations along with local agent Ali Tlhoaele, although the departure of the Comitis brothers has temporarily slowed down talks.
