SuperSport confirm Hunt exit

Gavin Hunt leaves SuperSport United after six years

Posted: 29 May 2013 Time: 1:32 pm

SuperSport United and Gavin Hunt have officially parted ways.

It was South African soccer’s worst-kept secret that the three-time League winning coach was leaving Matsatsantsa after six years to join Jose Ferreira at Bidvest Wits.

KickOff.com reported yesterday that the deal was imminent at the Students wanted to get all their ducks in the row and give Hunt as much time as possible to plot the club’s revival.

The big question now is who will step into the breach at SuperSport. Our sources reveal that Platinum Stars’ Cavin Johnson is the overwhelming favourite, especially with reports that some ‘external forces’ at Dikwena want him out.

Free State Stars’ Steve Komphela is another name in the hat, but Johnson is the overwhelming favourite.

SSU will never be the same , Gavin Hunt you did a great job there, very knowledgeable coach about South African football.

I remember when you lost to Kaizer Chiefs in the 1st round by 2-1 , you said it publicly that its over no team will catch Kaizer Chiefs .

After Carling Black Label Cup in July 27 Roger Di Sa and Eric Tinkle will be History in the Books of Orlando Pirates and Clive Barker will be Coaching the Useless Team from Orlando. If Roger Di Sa will be a Coach of Orlando Pirates Next Season..... Make No Mistake Pirates will be Out of Top 8 and will be in the Relegation Zone. Love & Peace.

@ Gucci man,

He also foresaw KC winning the league & not Pirates in the past 2 seasons but they won the treble in both & KC thereafter used Pirates as a yardstick for their success.

So, he is a liar & a prophet of doom & hate. Like Gordon, he is preparing to coach KC very soon after the CV cooking lessons are exposed in the new season.

Yah, he did capitalised on hard work by Pitso as he won those 3 lig cups. Pitso generation left and everything fell apart. Let's see him building for himself at Wits.

This article is all over the place. It has 3 stories of which only 1 is factual but the other 2 are just Hebberx's barge of hot air from the waist.

I am now of the oppinion that no 1 is a qualified journalist at KO. No wonder the hired the likes of Fariyayi & co, they are the cheapest labour that only have qualification in plagiarism & under-cooked stories.

A stupid coach who took Pitso's team which won a few cups and polished it to be consistent. Always ranting about not his team playing well instead of giving credit to the opponents. This fool thought he was Sir Alex.
