SuperSport United and Gavin Hunt have officially parted ways.
It was South African soccer’s worst-kept secret that the three-time League winning coach was leaving Matsatsantsa after six years to join Jose Ferreira at Bidvest Wits.
KickOff.com reported yesterday that the deal was imminent at the Students wanted to get all their ducks in the row and give Hunt as much time as possible to plot the club’s revival.
The big question now is who will step into the breach at SuperSport. Our sources reveal that Platinum Stars’ Cavin Johnson is the overwhelming favourite, especially with reports that some ‘external forces’ at Dikwena want him out.
Free State Stars’ Steve Komphela is another name in the hat, but Johnson is the overwhelming favourite.
