Ajax Cape Town coach Jan Versleijen has resigned with immediate effect.

The decision to resign is due to the appointment of former coach Muhsin Ertugral as the new Technical Director.

Versleijen said in a statement to media:

"With the latest turn of events where the club appointed a new Head of Technical, which I did not agree with, I have made the decision to step down as the head coach of Ajax.

“Further, I am very disappointed in the manner in which I found out about this new appointment of Head of Technical

“I would like to thank the club for the opportunity afforded to me and I wish the club and its supporters the very best with their current challenge in saving relegation and its future.”

Welcome to Africa Coach...... Some teams here are still not fully professionally managed. I'm sure you heard if from your players or a friend instead of the management telling you..... Ajax can be relegated now... I don't care. Ertugral has been changing teams that means he aint that good coach.
