SuperSport United and Maritzburg United played to a draw at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday night.
Both sides lacked a finishing instinct and could not take the chance to climb the Premiership log.
SuperSport, however, nearly opened the scoring after just seconds, when Sameehg Doutie pin-point pass found Bradley Grobler inside the area, but the striker dragged his shot wide.
Just after half an hour in Maritzburg had their first chance, when veteran striker Delron Buckley took a shot, but Edwin Gyimah managed to head it away.
Cuthbert Malajila had the chance to add to his 10 League goals just before half-time, beating the offside trap and making a great run at Ronwen Williams, but he too dragged his effort wide.
Doutie and Grobler linked up well again after the break, with the former losing his man on the wing and playing another fantastic pass to his teammate, but Grobler’s shot was not too threatening for Shu-Aib Walters.
Second half substitute Jabulani Maluleke could have saved the game in the dying seconds, after he made his way through the Maritzburg defence and tried a curling shot, but his miscued the effort and it went wide.
The draw means both sides remain where they are on the log, SuperSport in fifth and Maritzburg in sixth.
