United beat Petro de Luanda 2-0 at home a fortnight ago to qualify for the next stage of the tournament and have been in good form in the Premiership and Nedbank Cup – hence the confidence in camp.
In a chat with KickOff.com before their departure for Cairo on Tuesday, United midfielder George Maluleka says that even though they know nothing about their opponents they plan on coming back from Egypt with a positive result.
"We don’t know anything about them and the coach hasn’t told us anything about our opponents from Egypt yet. They are a closed book to us," Maluleka says.
"I have been there before with the Under-20 national team for the World Cup few years ago and the club also played in Egypt last season and so we are familiar with the conditions there.
"With the right attitude and mentality I am confident that we will come back home with something to smile about.
"We have had a good run in recent League and cup matches and the win away from home against Maritzburg United last weekend in the Nedbank Cup was a huge morale boost ahead going to play in Egypt," Maluleka adds.
