Former Orlando Pirates coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, has won the Ethiopian Midroc league title with St George FC.

The Serbian coach who was in South Africa in April and rumoured to be linked to a coaching job at Bloemfontein Celtic guided his team to victory without a single loss.

Sredojevic, who also helped Orlando Pirates reach the semi-final stage of the CAF African Champions League helped his team pick up 19 wins, 5 draws and no losses.

He was also voted best coach of the season for the third time after guiding the same team to league success in 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 season.

“With pride and motivation for the future challenges, this is my third league trophy in Ethiopia, with three in Uganda with SC Villa, the regional Cecafa Championship with SC Villa and the CAF Champions League semi-final finish with Orlando Pirates, this is good reason for me to be proud,” Sredojevic told KickOff.com.

The 38-year old said he is looking forward to helping his team perform well in the CAF Champions League and also maintain their winning ways in Ethiopian football.

Micho was a good guy, he could have been our Alex Ferguson but people like you and BB mutombo who drove him. It took Sir Alex 5yrs to be finish in the top Five bracket in the league. Patience pays. Rush is a fastest track to failure.

Charles

You are talking rubbish , when Pirates was in the doldrums in the early 90s , the same KHOZA u r insulting put his personal fortune to bring it back to its former glory , for many years the team had no sponsor beacuse Khoza wanted to mantain its history , unlike teams who buckled and allowed sponsors to mess with their teams calling them names like "Double Action" Sundowns , "Iwisa" Kaizer Chiefs , this man kept the team going , today ungrateful people like you are always insulting him , no one is infallible , people make mistakes but you people are always on his case , you will never hear other supporters treating their chairmen with such disdain , you have the "kaffir" mentality Khoza referred to earlier in the year, just buzz off with your nonsense, you fantasise about buying a football team , i wonder if you can even afford a plastic football

Yah, this Pirates team has caused me more stress that my studies, my love life and the currently soaring interest rates combined. I just cannot believe the kind of poor leadership that has prevailed in this club under the leadership of Dr Khoza. I agree with you Charles but I think the quicker and obtainable route to show our displeasure at what is happening at our team is to boycott the games. We just do not attend Pirates matches. That will send the message. It is a pity people like Chili still believe Pirates when they say the coach has resigned when it is blatantly clear that the coach was pushed. There is love and passion for the team but you can’t love or support blindly like Chili. People like Chili make a lot of noise (supposedly excited) when Benet Chenene juggles the ball moving from the 18-metre box towards the corner flag. After the match they are angry at the coach because Pirates has lost forgetting the moment of madness they were cheering at minutes ago.

I will not boycott my team , support is about rallying behind your team even in tough times. ODG may have been fired , he took the team through its worst run in 20 years , even he would have been naive to think he would be retained, I agree that the leadership at Pirates has left a lot to be desired in recent times however I as a supporter of Pirates do not support Irvin as an individual , I support the institution and I want to play my part in rebuilding the institution. as long as our so called supporters are consumed in in critising individuals , teams like Sundowns / Ajax/ Chiefs/SSU will continue their dominance, while we struggle. attitude is always the first step towards progress. maybe you guys need to consider other options clearly ur hearts are not with Bucs , rather a few supporters who support than millions who do not, here is a proposition , lets agree to part ways amiccably with you

Parting ways amicable is what Pirates does best isn’t it? I am shocked at how mediocrity has sunk in all of us football supporters. We have sunk to the lowest levels in terms of our performance and that has affected us psychologically. We have accepted that we are not good enough. I am sure that Sihle, Chilli and the rest as the outstanding Pirates supporters have been supporting the institution for the past 10 years. What do you guys have to show for your support? Nothing in the trophy cabinet but a long list of coaches who have come and gone.
