Orlando Pirates top of the South African Reserve League

Posted: 19 March 2013 Time: 12:09 pm

Orlando Pirates are still leading the Reserve League standings, despite having not played in yesterday’s round of games.

The Buccaneers are top of the log with 16 points from six games, having won five and drawn one.

They are three points better off than second-placed Jomo Cosmos, who beat Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 yesterday. Downs are down in sixth place in the eight-team log with just 10 points from nine matches.

University of Pretoria are on 12 points following yesterday 1-1 draw with bottom-placed Bidvest Wits, as are Moroka Swallows, who played out to a 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs in a game that saw Jimmy Tau make his return to action following a lengthy injury lay-off.

I'd rather win Q1, Q3, Q4 & the league compared to winning Q12 aka the reserve league whereby the winner gets Gogo Maminzela's muddy full panty as the winners trophy...

I am not a Pirates supporter, but there is no doubt the headline is a mockery to Pirates fans and it was deliberately mearnt to incite them into anger. Sometimes I feel the kickoff.com team enjoys reading abusive insults being hurled at each other amongst the bloggers here. NICE JOKE, anyway!!

No team won league title this season. No team than Celtic and Swallows won a cup this season. All the fans that make noise here, with the exception of Celtic`s and Swallows` , have won nothing just like Pirates even though they think otherwise.

Some folks think that topping the charts with 5pts with nearly a 3rd of a season to go amounts to winning league title, whereas it doesnt even Baxter has echoed such many times. In countries like Germany, England, Spain there is a huge difference between those topping the charts and 2nd placed teams, yet there is no much noise compared to the noise here. Then again the likes of Barca, M.U, Bayern have won league titles many times in the last virtually 10yrs while the team currently topping the charts in RSA has not won league title in virtually 10yrs now. Hence they seem to think that they are better than Pirates who last lifted the cup in May 2012, not May 2005.

Svasiya must go end of season,he scored an own-goal in that game against the Birds, and as far as i know Chiefs played a game with Cosmos which was suspended due to weather and KC was leading, but they did not count the points nor rescheduled the game

Pirates must be celebrating wherever they are in Mayfair
