Slow sales for Bafana game

Slow sales for Bafana vs Central Africa Republic game at Cape Town Stadium

Posted: 18 March 2013 Time: 05:53 pm

Tickets sales for Bafana Bafana’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday are off to a sluggish start.

At the time of writing, only 12 000 of the allotted 40 000 tickets had been sold, but organisers are hopeful that they will get a late flurry of tickets, as was the case when South Africa last played in the city.

“Cape Town supporters, and supporters all over the country, wait until the last minute, as we saw with the Norway game,” City spokesman Grant Pascoe says. “Two days before the game we saw a spike of 28 000 tickets being sold.

“I believe that our fans will come out in their numbers and give our team the necessary support.”

Pascoe has also assured fans that the pitch, which came in for criticism during the Norway game, will be in top condition.

Dont worry the number of tickets will go up as of tomorrow. Most of the guys in CPT get paid on a weekely base. They work mostly as contractors and also depend on fishing.

@Gold & Black Rhino,

U have to repeat this sh*t many times before u can actually believe it. Statistics dont lie, we get more attendance than kaizer chimpanzees. Chimps in JHB get far less attendance. your attendance is better in Polokwane.
