Fani Madida hints at the reasons that led to him having his contract terminated at AmaZulu – saying Craig Rosslee takes too much credit for Orlando Pirates' treble.
According to a statement released by Usuthu, the club decided to release Madida from his duties after “it was found that the working relationship between the assistant coach and head coach [Craig Rosslee] had not improved since the coach’s arrival”.
In a chat with KickOff.com, Madida was unwilling to bad-mouth his former teammate, but did allude to the reasons behind their problems working together.
“Craig was my teammate and captain and I know him very well. I know his weaknesses and also his strengths. His strength is that he is a hard nut to crack.
“It’s not about me to talk about him. But if an assistant coach goes to the public and says that he is responsible for winning the treble with Orlando Pirates, it says a lot about what kind of person you are and about your personality,” Madida says.
“I think the personality problems will be revealed by the games still left and what kind of person he is.
“I believe the people at AmaZulu will only start to understand him better as they move forward together,” he adds.
