Mrs Dilichukwu Onyedinma, who heads the Women's League body, announced after the Annual General Assembly, that the practice is now officially banned.
According to Onyema, players found to be in contravention would be dismissed and also barred from representing Nigeria
“Any player that we find is associated with it will be disqualified,” she added.
“We will call the club chairmen to control their players, and such players will not be able to play for the national team.”
Onyema said the League body will work with clubs to stop the practice.
“It (lesbianism) is happening but we have to talk to the clubs, and look inside the clubs and these things have to do with clubs.
“There are particular clubs that don't even want to hear about it and once they heard it the players involved will be sacked,” Onyema, a member of the NFF executive committee, said.
Onyema's comments come two years after Super Falcons coach Eucharia Uche declared that the team were performing better because she had rid the squad of lesbians.

What does someone's sexuality have to do with someone's talent? Do all of you using God's name to perpetuate your prejudices, I assume, without deciding that you are without sin or any other blemish.
That said, I am not homosexual and never will be, but dislike religious zealots who are cause of so much strife trying to play Deputy God at the expense of people different to them. Someone's sexuality is none of their business. Let them fight fly by night preachers and leave their religious beliefs out of sport.

Like it or not religion has everything to do with sports. Religious morals give extra guidelines to sports stars, guidelines that aren't even included in a code of conduct.
If you think the only way people can stand up for the truth is by being perfect than you're lost. This is one of the reasons why so many people are starting to behave like animals these days. It because religious morals are considered to be taboo and trivial.
I salute the Nigerians for standing for what they belive in. Young children need role models that set a good example.
