NFF bars reporters over 'hate campaign'

The Nigeria Football Federation has barred two sports journalists, Messrs Ezeocha Nze and Romanus Ugwu from its programmes

The Nigeria Football Federation has barred two sports journalists, Messrs Ezeocha Nze and Romanus Ugwu from its programmes, activities and events until further notice.

Speaking at the NFF Secretariat on Tuesday evening, NFF General Secretary, Musa Amadu said the two journalists were no longer welcome at NFF’s events as they have persevered with campaign of calumny against the Executive Committee and Management of the Federation, for no stated reason.

“The NFF considers all journalists to be stakeholders of the game and we love and respect them as professionals, and even go to some length to ensure they do their job without any hindrance or molestation.

“However, we have found out over the course of time that Messrs Nze and Ugwu are committed to hate campaign against the NFF Board and Management, and we find no reason to continue to accommodate them at our events and programmes,” Amadu said.

While Mr. Ezeocha Nze is a correspondent of The Guardian Newspapers, Mr. Romanus Ugwu represents all-sport daily publication, Soccerstar, which is in the stable of THE SUN newspapers.

What is interesting here is that these guys have been exposing just how corrupt these NFF officials are and they don't like it. These journalists should be rewarded and recognized.

I am glad these guys at NFF dont have guns because if they do they will be shooting journalist. Only dictators fear words written or spoken and only in Africa can you lose your freedom or life because of words written or expressed. Can you imagine all the hatefull things said about President Obama in American press and that is the most powerful man in the world. Most of what is said about are not even true.
So folks at NFF should not be afraid of their own shadow, if what is being written by these journalist are not true why would they be bothered? If these guys are inciting riots then NFF have a point but so far nobody has rioted because of whatever these journalist have written.

Is this a joke or what? Aminu Maigari should resign now, enough of these scandals. How can you say you bar a journalist from public event. Can you see how stupid those running our football can be? Not even Obama or the Pope can bar a journalist not to talk of these fake thieves inside the NFF. We're still waiting to learn what happened to the over $200,000 that grew wings and flew out the NFF safe prior to the 2008 AFCON. These people should be jailed rather than being allowed to continue to tarnish the image of our football.

@Cosa Nostra(5Families...Civility is not singing out of tune. The subject of discuss is the illegal bar of 2 journalists by NFF and not drugs my brother. Who even cares about you coming to Nigeria. What do you have to offer? Nothing more than hate, rape, AIDS and drugs. Drug business thrives in South Africa only because the sellers find a thriving market in South Africa. If you do not buy, the sellers will not sell and they will pack their business. the buyer is equally guilty as the seller my friend. Every country has its own problem and we are dealing with our problem the way we can. If you South Africans were bold enough to confront apartheid the way you confront and harass fellow African brothers in your country, freedom would have come long before 1980. The last time I checked, South Africa leads in crime in the whole of Africa and the currently discussed is a paralympic shooting his girlfriend to death. The last time I checked, we in Nigeria don't carry guns the way you South Africans do and I know that up to date, no able bodied Nigerian athlete has ever killed his wife or anyone talk less of a para-lympic. No country is perfect by brother and whoever lives in Glass house does not throw stones. So grow up my brother.

Sporting Lisbon whizkid Tiago Ilori is exciting staff - and should be doing the same at the English FA.

Ilori, who came close to signing for Toulouse in January, has just broken the sprint records of Manchester United winger Nani and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo while they were with the club.

The teen played in the same Sporting B team as Eric Dier and Bruma which won the national title last season.

Ilori qualifies for England through his English father.

This is an article from Tribalfootball.com. If Nigeria will not approach this very fast and talented defender, England will step in and convince him. We are African champions, lets act like champions, get in there and take what we want. Keshi please approach this player. He just turned 20 and is the starting Center Back for Portugal U- 20 and plays Right Back for Sporting Lisbon. Slyman
