The fixtures for the opening day of the Nigeria Premier League have been released, although the draws are still being made and will be concluded on Saturday.
The League is set to resume on March 9 and last season's runners-up Rangers Int'l of Enugu play host to Oriental-rivals Enyimba at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in an encounter that is expected to be the star-match of the opening week.
Both South-Eastern clubs, who are jointly regarded as the most successful clubs in Nigerian football, have reinforced their teams heavily in the off-season with Rangers poaching some players from Enyimba, including their captain Josiah Maduabuchi, who allegedly took a pay-cut to join Flying Antelopes.
Rangers also snapped-up Nzube Anazemba from Enyimba. The pacy winger is being tipped to replace Ejike Uzoenyi, who is expected to move abroad later in the year.
Rangers defeated Enyimba 1-0 in last season's corresponding fixture at Enugu, but fell to the might of the People's Elephant losing 2-0 at Aba.
