Gould closer to return

Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould is nearing a return to action after five months on the sidelines.

Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould is nearing a return to action after five months on the sidelines.

Gould underwent surgery in August to repair his torn Achilles tendon after he was injured at training and he was expected to be out for six full months but according to Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter, Gould is very close to making his comeback.

"Morgan is ahead of schedule and he has taken part in three or even four games now," he says.

Baxter further says the 29-year-old could be back as early as in two weeks, but insists the latter won't be rushed.

READ: Gould, Mathoho back in training

"I don't want to rush Morgan. I want to give him enough time to get himself in football shape. Within the next month, he would certainly be available for action and if I was to push him, I would probably have him on the bench within the next two weeks.

"If we were desperate, he could give us some time [in the field], but we are not desperate. We want Morgan, when he comes back, to stay in the squad and see the season out not just come back for a big hooray and then breaks down," Baxter concludes.

I doubt if most Gorillas will be able to comprehend the above statement.

Sir Alex Baxter has a sweet headache coz I'm sure he doesn't know who should start 2moro: Gould/Mathoho/Masha ja ne quality defenders.

Atleast Roger dlisa doesn't have any headache coz he know dat he's gonna start wit Awal and Sangweni at da back: Kalaba and Klate as wingers.
