Nkana chairperson John Chiwele said that they were not satisfied with SuperSport's offer for the 19-year-old finisher.
Kampamba spent a week with SuperSport at the end of January.
"He is back with us but we were not comfortable with the whole arrangement," Chiwele said.
"They (SuperSport) wanted to take him and loan him somewhere else and we were not comfortable with that.
"It's is not like he failed the trails, but the bottom line is we were not happy with the terms of the deal."
Kampamba was the 2012 season top scorer in Zambia with 15 goals in all competitions for Nkana.
Chiwele said that Kampamba was back and training with the team ahead of the 2013 MTN/FAZ Super Division kick-off next month.
"If they are no opportunities for him now, then we believe he will get one if Zambia qualify for the CHAN (2014 African Nations Championship)," Chiwele said.
