The transfer window will close at 17h00 this evening and a number of clubs are already making last minute signings as they brace for the resumption of the League title chase in February.
Mere's contract runs out in June and there has been speculation that the former Mamelodi Sundowns player might sign for the Clever Boys, who are well known for recruiting experienced players.

But in a chat with KicKOff.com, Platinum Stars general manager Jason Raine sets the record straight: "There has been no official enquiry for Mere from Wits and the player is not going anywhere. These reports are just rumours."
