Modise flew out with the rest of the squad to Bulawayo on Monday afternoon but then returned back on Wednesday morning forcing him to miss The Brazilians' 2-0 friendly international win over Highlanders.
Sundowns will continue with their tour of Zimbabwe with further matches against CAPS United on Friday and Dynamos on Sunday in Harare.
Kabelo Mosito, the Sundowns spokesman explains that Modise – who KickOff.com spotted driving near Clearwater Mall on the West yesterday – is back on personal reasons.
“Teko had personal matters that he needed to urgently attend to which is why he was he was excused from the camp and had to travel back home. There is still a chance of him going back but it will all depend on when he gets to be done with these matters that he is attending to,” says Mosito.
Meanwhile, the goalkeeping crisis that has befallen Sundowns during their tour of Zimbabwe has been eased following revelations that Dennis Onyango will be travelling today to link-up with the rest of the squad after recovering from the fever that forced him not to travel on Monday.

Onyango will now be in goals for the two matches against CAPS United tomorrow and Dynamos on Sunday.
Sundowns were yesterday forced to use a guest goalkeeper Liberty Chirava from Bulawayo club Chicken Inn in their match against Highlanders following an injury to Calvin Marlin – the only goalkeeper that they had travelled with after Onyango stayed behind for health reasons while first choice Wayne Sandilands is with Bafana.
With the crisis Sundowns had already made further arrangements to ‘hire' Highlanders goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda who had been scheduled to then guard the posts in the matches against CAPS and Dynamos.
Sibanda – who deputises for Tapuwa Kapini in the national team and has attracted interest from Ajax Cape Town – kept goals for Highlanders yesterday in the match against Sundowns.
“Dennis Onyango is now on his way to Zimbabwe today to join up with the rest of the squad and so will be the one in goals in the remaining matches,” explains Mosito.
