Ajax Cape Town confirm transfers of Lance Davids, Mabhuti Khenyeza

Posted: 31 January 2013 Time: 08:54

Ajax Cape Town have officially confirmed the return of Mabhuti Khenyeza to the club, as well as a re-signing of Lance Davids.

The Urban Warriors have had an extremelly busy transfer season, signing Abia Nale on a six-month loan from Kaizer Chiefs, while also assessing Rowen Fernandez and Rudiger Gilbert.

Davids last played for Ajax in 2009/10, during which he scored five goals in 24 appearances. He signs from Lierse SK in Belgium, where he has been out of favour.

Khenyeza finished 2008/09 at Ajax as top scorer, including two in the Telkom Knockout Final against Orlando Pirates. The former Kaizer Chiefs man joins the Urban Warriors in a swap-deal that saw Bradley Grobler join SuperSport United.

The club confirmed the two signings on their site.

Meanwhile, Ajax CEO George Comitis says they back the new coaching staff 100 per cent.

Ian Gorowa was appointed assistant coach yesterday, joining interim coach Jan Versleijen.

“The board of Ajax CT UNANIMOUSLY backed current interim coach Versleijen and assistant coach Gorowa until the end of season,” Comitis said on Twitter.

Davids is one guy who was never given an opportunity to play for BB
The guy is good and he used to be regular at his team with Gaxa deputising him but for some reason Gaxa used to get Pitso's calls from the bench ahead of him

English Words

Stand and sing of Zambia, proud and free,

Land of work and joy in unity,

Victors in the struggle for the right,

We have won freedom's fight.

All one, strong and free.

Africa is our own motherland,

Fashion'd with and blessed by God's good hand,

Let us all her people join as one,

Brothers under the sun.

All one, strong and free.

One land and one nation is our cry,

Dignity and peace 'neath Zambia's sky,

Like our noble eagle in its flight,

Zambia, praise to thee.

All one, strong and free.

(Sung After Third Verse Only)

Praise be to God.

Praise be, praise be, praise be,

Bless our great nation,

Zambia, Zambia, Zambia.

Free men we stand

Under the flag of our land.

Zambia, praise to thee!

All one, strong and free.

Ajax Cape Town should now be hard at work for the next 11 months to bring DAVID BECKHAM to Cape Town in 2014. All his salary will go to the Nelson Mandela's Children Fund. David and wife will be ambassadors for Cape Town which will be the DESIGN CAPITAL OF THE WORLD IN 2014!
Playing in Cape Town will draw a massive cosmopolitan crowd which will be good for football and democracy in South Africa.
Other clubs will follow as many player want to be philanthropic but the plan/concept has not been adequately sold to them.
SOUTH AFRICA should be able to draw any superstar. Nelson Mandela/ freedom/democratic values/2010/ our beautiful people etc, etc, etc.
