Basetsana's fears ahead of the trip to Kinshasa for the final leg of their World Cup qualifier on June 15 appear to be well founded.
Ghana's Black Maidens have just returned from the central African country where they played their DRC counterparts in Lumubashie last week and immediately asked the Confederation of African Football to take a critical look at the country and to find a solution to the ill-treatment teams suffer at the hands of their hosts during qualifying matches.
The Ghanaian girls says they were abandoned at the airport, given poor accommodation and suffered through physical attacks on the pitch, one of which almost resulted in the death of their goalkeeper Margaret Otoo.
Basetsana are currently in camp in Johannesburg preparing for the final leg of their World Cup qualifier and are set to depart on June 13.
