Eagles hail 'amazing' Enyeama

Nigeria players lined-up to heap praises on goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama

Super Eagles players lined-up to heap praises on goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, after he pulled off two mind-blowing stops in the win over Ethiopia.

Enyeama captained the team on the day, but Joseph Yobo, who came on late in the game showered praise on him.

"He was amazing today, especially with that first save," Yobo said.

"When I saw the header, I just thought it was in, but I don't know how he did it.

"It was a miracle."

Defenders Kenneth Omeruo and Godfrey Oboabona also praised their last line of defence.

"I think that was the best save I have ever seen," Oboabona said. "It came from nowhere."

"He's a great goalkeeper, and he showed it today. I was happy because it helped us keep our clean sheet," Omeruo said.

Celebrating a victory over little Ethiopia? How the mighty have fallen. It was not even a convincing victory. We had to depend on 2 penalties. This is embarrassing. Struggling against Ethiopia, tell me how will they will face Ivory Coast? Pack your bags now it will take a miracle for this team to pass the quarterfinals.

Semifinal predictions. South Africa vs Ivory Coast and Ghana vs group d runner up. Final Ivory Coast vs Ghana.

Enyeama really was the saviour of the day today. Those stops where stops even the irrepressible Oliver Kahn, the freak penalty stopper Lev Yashing, the great Sepp Maier and the catlike Gordon Banks would had been proud of. I thought the ball was in the back of the net following that emphatic header, but i guess Enyeama had other ideas. Well done Captain Vincent Enyeam. You save our blushes!

@Naijabros!!...some times i wonder if you are a Nigerian!!...your comments are always negative of our team!, for goodness sake this is a tounament and not a one game play.We won and that is what matters and the team must be given full support in order to win this cup.If you think that this team will be beaten then you must be out of your mind, Nigeria will be difficult to beat and i see them beating Cote dvoire. If you are not ready to support SE then stop writing or speading your bad belle sentiment on them.

Never doubted Enyeama's ability right from his heroics with Enyimba. Messi described him as 'phenomenal' . Someone ( name witheld ) said that Ejide is better than Enyeama, lol. Is that based on facts or reasoning through sentimental lines ? Up Eagles jare. Nigeria will knock CIV out , though heart-attackingly , lol. Good-luck to SE.

Sometimes in life you need people who talk like this to give a wake up call and on the other hand naija need to prove him wrong and ultimately reaching set goals, that is why in life there is the Devil giving challenges that remind us that there is the mighty God

@Naijabros speak ur mind bro. this team leaves nothing to be desired, you can't praise a non performer. @Anonymous Ogenyi Onazi is a senseless player. We need a player to match Yaya Toure tactically and physically.

@All:

What peole dont understand is that its not that easy to play against teams like Ethiopia... Mozambiq..!

I was myself realy angry Yesterday but we won at the end. Its wrong to enter a game with the intention to win 4-0!

I was so disappointed of our middlefield! What i missed was a play-death-mentality. Mikel most do more but in my opinion he tried. But I want that he believes in hiself and push harder and harder. Ogude wasnt that bad denfensively but still i want to see more. This guys must understand that 90min is 90min if you get tiered than our bench is waiting. Sunday Mba must also play better.

Our strikers were not able to play inteligent football. What i mean is running without the ball. I only saw inteligent football against Burkina Fasa... Ideye Brown. Ike and Musa and are fantastic players but sometimes you need more than dribble skills. They must must learn to pass the ball Sometimes like Mikel allways and Mikel must also learn to run with ball sometimes. I am really pissed at Musa he stop dribbling. What dont he just flank the ball high to the strikers????? He allways tried to dribble pass the Ethiopians from the right side..... I am not sayin he shouldnt try sometimes..

@Anonymous, Naijabros only gave his opinion which he is entitled to. It may not go down well with you or some others; but, it is an opinion that you ought to respect and tolerate without being ascerbic. That's the meaning of democracy-- to accommodate other viewpoints respectfully even when we disagree.

Nigeria is in big problem, up till now it has been by the grace of God, now we will no that faith without work is death James 2:14-26....Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them Mattew 7:20. I have said this words for almost a month now, this team have nothing good going for it, look at yesterday's game will be a testimony of the limited football knowledge that Keshi had, they say when your job is on the line that is when you bring out your best, my God if that is Keshi's best then we are truly in big problem, no combination passes, no good ball movement, yobo is running because he does not want to hang his career on a losing team, it was after the second goal he came in, mikel is running from another penalty because he dose not want to miss another one, victor Moses had to step up to take the penalty after been flawed because everybody is running and he almost missed the second penalty which show our boys are not confident in them self. So even if we play draw with CIV, who will play the penalty for us. My people no matter how we look at this the next game CIV will walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

i get really angry when i hear Nigerians condemning our super eagles openly. and let me ask what gave these set of guys the thought that CIV will beat us? did they watch the opening match btw togo n CIV? in my opinion togo played better than the ivory coast that day, even getting a goal rulled out when it was obvious togo scored a good goal. CIV also played a 2-2 draw with Algeria yesterday. these faithless guys here campaigning for the ivory coast to beat us will be forced to eat their words come sunday. mark my words, we are on our way to the semis.
